As we live through every 24 hours in a day, the internet is progressing and helping push the technological boundaries as we know it. The internet right now is not the same as it was 2 weeks ago and will not be the same in 2 years. What is the internet? In its primitive days, the internet was slow, loud and not very useful to the everyday person. Now the internet is streamline and a well oiled machine or algorithm that gets you to your destination almost instantly. When most people think of the internet the first thing that comes to mind will most likely be Google. However, Google is just a part of the internet and while the do push the boundaries on what the internet does, they do not fill the internet. So back to the previous question, what is the internet? Well the dictionary says that the internet is a global network providing information as well as communication facilities in an interconnected web. While that is the dictionary definition of the internet, it feels quite lackluster. The internet is forever growing and now the prime source of entertainment, news, information and life. There are two ways that the internet is the prime source of life, the first is life as in energy, buzz, what's happening. Then there is also the other side of the internet where it truly is peoples life. They do not have their own voice outside of the internet trends. This has a grip on many people. The way that the internet grows and expands at times it does feel that the internet is alive, in a sense. I feel as if the internet is a part of everyone and every one is apart of the internet. Users of the internet breath life into it by their interactions and their own thoughts and opinions. The internet would be nothing if no one used it. While information is wildly abundant and extremely accessible, the internet has its tropes. There are predator's on the internet just like the real world and the internet has its own rules. Many people refer to the internet as a different world. It can be easy to get lost in the internet as well. I feel that I have a healthy relationship with the internet. I am not scared of the internet, I am scared of how people can use the internet to their advantage. The internet will only continue to grow and develop. As society progresses so does the brain and how we process things, and we are currently in a parallel evolution with the internet and our brains.
